This arrangement of ‘Al Faqīr’ comes from Sami Yusuf’s recently released ‘The House Concert’. Live from his studio, Sami Yusuf is joined here by musicians in the UK and Turkey. This intimate, personal performance was recorded in technically challenging circumstances during the restrictions of the Spring of 2020. The minimal, meditative sound heard here is a spiritual chant inspired by the barakah (grace) that the artist experienced during a recent stay in Morocco. The lyrics by Karim Abdul Qader Zenger speak of the universal human experience of smallness before the immensity and power of the Universe.
