On the 23rd of August, something remarkable unfolded at Yenikapı, Istanbul.

Before 25,000 listeners under an open sky, Sami Yusuf performed ‘Amada’ — the closing movement of Ecstasy — in what has already become one of the most talked-about live music events of the year.

The piece carried the mystical Spanish verses of San Juan de la Cruz through flamenco fire, Arabic invocation, and symphonic depth. Joining Sami on stage were the Fons Sophia Collective — over eighty international musicians from across the world, including Türkiye’s legendary Mehter — alongside soloists Isra Moro (Spain), Ibrahim Suat Erbay (Türkiye), and Ahmet Yağmur Kucur, each bringing their distinct voice to a performance of rare emotional intensity.

At its close, the music dissolved into sin orilla — without shore. A whisper drawn from Ibn Arabi’s boundless vision: that love, at its deepest, has no edge and no end.
